Gracious whole-plant farmaceuticals

We are a collective of growers, engineers and builders turning empty towers into farms that feed the blocks around them, and grow the bioactives that pay for it.
Spotlight on adaptive reuse
A dying office tower is not a liability. It is a farm that already has structure, power, water and an elevator. We keep all four, strip the fit-out, and plant the floors. The owner keeps the asset and becomes the landlord; we sign the long lease and operate the building.
Adaptive reuse
Find the dying tower. Structure, power, water and an elevator are already paid for.
What we keep, what we strip, what we add
Keep the four systems, strip the office fit-out, add racks, tanks and light.
Fifty to a hundred green-collar jobs per building
Hire the growing floor from the blocks around the building.
Scraps in, insects, fish, fertilizer out
Close the loop — waste from the market feeds the next harvest.
It already worked once. The Plant, Chicago.
A 93,500 sq ft meatpacking plant in Back of the Yards, vacant for three years, is now home to some twenty food businesses, closed-loop growing systems and thousands of visitors a year. That is the playbook we scale vertically.
Our floors
A farmacy has no back office. Growers, technicians, lab staff and the people behind the market counter work the same ten floors, in the neighbourhood they were hired from.

"The work cannot be moved offshore, because the produce has to be eaten near where it grew. That is not a slogan. It is the whole reason the jobs stay."
