Fifty towers, fifty neighbourhoods, one repeatable floor plan

Gracious commits to a fifty-facility build-out: one drawing set, stamped fifty times, in the neighbourhoods the supply chain forgot.

Today we are making the plan public: fifty farmacy towers, in fifty neighbourhoods, built from one repeatable floor plan. Facility 001 in uptown Charlotte is the prototype; the other forty-nine are the point.

The economics of pharmaceutical-grade plant molecules have always been hostage to one-off engineering. Every facility a snowflake, every commissioning a research project, every cost overrun passed downstream to the patient. Our answer is the least romantic idea in industrial history: standardize the building.

One drawing set

The repeatable plan is a mid-rise vertical farm with a fixed core: palletized grow bays, an on-site assay lab, and a street-facing farmacy counter. Site-specific work is confined to the foundation and the skin. Everything inside the envelope — rack spacing, conduit runs, air handling, the walk from harvest to assay — is identical in Charlotte and in every city after it.

Repetition is what moves the numbers. The second building prices lower than the first; the tenth commissions in weeks instead of months. Every dollar the drawing set saves is a dollar that comes off the shelf price of SFN-01.

Where they go

Site selection follows the walking radius, not the demographics a retailer would chase. Each tower goes where the produce aisle is not: neighbourhoods where the nearest cruciferous vegetable is a bus transfer away. Fifty towers is not a metaphor or a stretch goal. It is a drawing set, a site list, and a schedule. We will publish progress here, one floor plate at a time.
